Pilot Faculty and Staff Caregiver Support Program
Program Description:
Goal: To help faculty and staff manage care-giving responsibilities that are unexpected or beyond the typical, everyday needs with the aim of supporting their professional development or the aims of the Department, College, or University.
Eligibility: Open to full-time TT/T and CT faculty with a primary appointment in the College of Engineering and full-time College of Engineering staff
Amount: Up to $1,000 per award
Number of awards per year: Depends on available funds
Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Caregiver support to help a faculty or staff member attend a conference
- Caregiver support so the faculty or staff member can attend a Saturday recruitment activity (e.g., Blue and Gold Days) or other similar university events
Criteria for selection:
- The expense should not be for everyday, routine caregiving.
- The expense should help advance the faculty or staff member’s professional growth, or the aims of the Department, College, or University.
- Limit of $1,000 per person per year.
- Preference will be given to those who have not previously received a caregiver support award.
Application, selection, and reporting process:
- Faculty member completes Qualtrics survey to apply.
- Review committee reviews requests on a rolling basis. The review committee is appointed by the Dean to include the ADAA, one faculty member, and one staff member.
- The review committee decides by majority vote whether to fund, and if so, at what amount.
- All receipts must be submitted to the Assistant to the ADAA for reimbursement within one month of the date the expenses were incurred.
